FORM FOR LIFE

bodies in motion, stay in motion....bodies at rest, stay at rest

Rome was not built in a day, so don't expect your body to change overnight.

Simple rules make easy ways to achieve your ultimate goal. Consistency is the key. It's an overall lifestyle change, it takes commitment, and the will to take an active role in creating the serenity we seek. Exercise is essential and creating a regular routine that can be done and enjoyed is preferable. The best way to burn fat and build muscle as well as tone your physique is high intensity training with weights that are appropriate for your current strength level. Working out daily while eating junk will be detrimental both physically and mentally, as the tissues that are starving for nutrition to rebuild, may actually end up weaker.

No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.

Master Cleanse Tips and Tricks

Master Cleanse Tips and Tricks

Master cleanser tips and Tricks

I first and foremost recommend all to read a short book by Stanley Burroughs called Master Cleanser. This short is just to aid in your upcoming journey towards having a clean, fit, and slender body.

You can buy the paperback or electronic version of Master Cleanser at AmazonBarnes and Noble, and iBook

One will encounter many roadblocks in this hiatus of food you are about to embark upon.  Having the correct mind frame before starting your cleanse is of the utmost and extreme importance.  Also ending the cleanse with the same fervor and patience is vital or a rebound is inevitable.

You must remember that this is a CLEANSE that you are doing for your body, brain, and overall health, NOT strictly for weight loss.  The latter is sought after and a welcome addition, but not your ultimate goal.  The reason I say this is because during the cleanse one goes through many unknown ideas and tribulations that are uncomfortable if never experienced before.

Without a doubt you will want to quit and give up from either hunger, boredom, or just habitual eating.  A simple way to get past these pains are constant understanding of why you are doing this.

If done for weight loss, you will eventually come to an early crossroads and tell yourself, "You know what, I don't care what anyone or society thinks of me or my body.  I LIKE ME!" This is a trick our minds play to get back to what's comfortable.  Don't let it.

Also your taste buds and brain will desperately miss the taste of food and will put food on a pedestal with worth that outweighs its due.  After putting so much work and willpower to finish, you become this ravenous beast that must taste everything that it has not had for one measly week. An odd position to take when countless years of abuse from these mysterious morsels is why your reading this now.                 So please use this as a jump start to a better and more fit life.

Pre-Cleanse To DO list

Before you get to drinking and giving up your daily consumption of food, take some time to yourself to really think about what your personal goals are for the cleanse.  What do you want to achieve with your mind, body, and soul?  Write down what you think about and reference it through the week to keep you on track.   A thought journal would be a great thing to keep you busy and accountable to your feelings as you progress.

Make a list of things you really have needed to do, but just haven't had the time.  Collect movies, books, or music that you want to enjoy. You will have down time without your packed social calendar of dinners and drinks. Utilize this time as efficiently as possible and you will feel even better at the end of your journey knowing you achieved so much. It also doesn't hurt that it keeps your mind off of the idea of "chewing".

QUICK OVERVIEW OF HOW TO SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Journal - Jot down your feelings, write a poem, or write letters to connect to family and friends.
  • Movies - Netflix, Amazon, iTunes.....keep yourself focused on something fun and entertaining.
  • Music - Best time to find some hot new artists or reacquaint yourself with your old standbys!
  • Projects - Need to paint the bathroom? Clean your computer? Reorganize your sock drawer? Go for it!!! Need ideas click here
  • Books - Catch up on the classics or find a new book that intrigues you.
  • Overdue phone calls - That one thing you never seem to have time for!!! Start at the top of the list and work your way down.

WHAT'S THE DRINK??

  • Grade B maple syrup (whole foods 365 or trader joe's)
  • Fresh squeezed 100% lemon juice (Santa Cruz brand or buy a sack full and get to squeezin'),
  • Cayenne pepper to taste
  • Uniodized sea salt “fine grain”
  • Blend of your favorite teas(+/- caffeine)

First make a concentrate of the syrup(one part), strained lemon juice(one part), and cayenne. I found it easiest to keep the concentrate separate and just add varying amounts of water to dilute to preference. For breakfast and dinnertime I made a more concentrated warm spicy meal, and throughout the day I kept a liter of cold “crystal light like” mix on hand. Drinking the mixture in varying ways helps prevent boredom.

  • Mix concentrate with ice and blend very fine to make a late night ice sorbet treat!

Feel free to drink as much water, club soda, and tea throughout the day, stay hydrated.

what's the flush??

Flush is the cleanse!!!! Without this vital part of the system, your efforts are in vain and you will make yourself sick.  Why is that?  A collection of old bound up proteins and debris have coalesced in your system.  You must rid these vile elements through your colon, so we move them out with a mixture of sea salt and warm water.  The ingredients you need are listed below.

  • Unionized sea salt "fine grain"
  • Warm Filtered water ( the warmer the water the easier to drink)
  • Smooth Move Tea (not to be drank until your first "flush")

Take 1 teaspoon to tablespoon (some need more salt than others) of salt to one pint of lukewarm water(some may find the warmer the water the easy it goes down), mix stir and enjoy.  This has to be done on an empty stomach, preferably first thing in the morning or last thing in the evening.  Since this concentration of salt water is the same as your blood, the body has no need to absorb excessive amounts therefore it flows through your alimentary with elementary ease.  It is not the most pleasant or enjoyable 3 hrs of your life but is ABSOLUTELY necessary.  After your flush period has begun, you may drink your smooth move tea to relax and obtain the added benefits for the following morning.

***if you do not flush you will get sick***

Please alot 2-3 hrs of time and a working commode because you will need it. I recommend patting instead of wiping in the later rounds with the round bowl. Also do not attempt to pass gas during this period.  You will only try it once.  As an added option, you can order a Bidet for under $30 from Amazon for your toilet to help make this even easier on your sensitive areas.

OPTIMIZE YOUR CLEANSE

If you want to optimize your weight loss, the fitness aspect is key. You must work out and stretch. Nothing too strenuous. Just enough to get all the ol' ticker pumpin' a bit and the sweat glands a little squeeze. Yoga, pilates, light aerobics, and sex are all perfectly fine to do if able. No need to buy a pilates table, yoga mat, exercise equipment or loving partner to make this work. Just do what feels right to you.                JUST PLEASE DO SOMETHING!

ALLOW YOURSELF TO SLEEP, EVEN DURING THE DAY IF YOU FEEL TIRED. YOUR BODY IS GOING TO BE FATIGUED. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE YOU ARE IN A SLEEPY PITFALL, THIS IS ALL NORMAL. ALLOW YOUR BODY TO TAKE CARE OF ITSELF. LISTEN TO YOUR BODIES NEEDS.

To get through the first few days, taking a melatonin two hours before bed, this will help knock you out so the late night hunger pains don't harass you too much. Or you can drink some sleepy time tea.

Having a partner or friend that will take this ride with you makes all the difference in the world. They will be an outlet to put your hunger pains on and an inlet for strength during the tough times. A support system is key to get your through your 3-10 day journey to a new you. Choose someone that will help keep you accountable and someone that you trust to go through it with you. Positive energy is key, you can and will do this if you choose to!!!

One can take all prescribed meds on the cleanse except any narcotics that will make you nauseated or ones specifically prescribed to take with food.

Last tip is to use the extra time you will have to find a hobby or pick up an old one. You will come to see that the thought, preparation, ordering, cleaning, and eating of food takes up a substantial amount of your day that one could be spending exploring yourself. Enjoy the ride all, see you on the other side...

ExercisE & Stretching

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion.
